For the eighth year in a row, the Leonardtown journalism program is putting on the Gobble Down fundraiser. The competition is between one member from each grade, and the students get to nominate a select person. The contestants from each grade are also competing against one staff member and one member from the administrative team. These competitors will face a fierce battle between all the contestants and try to eat ten wings the fastest. We were graciously supplied with wings from the Old Town Pub!
Competing this year, the 9th-grade representative is Baylen Derby; even though he is a freshman, don’t underestimate him. Our 10th-grade representative this year is Miles Ramniah, and he is ready to fight against all the competitors. The 11th-grade representative is Owen Chew, and he is prepared to “chew” up the competition. The 12th-grade representative is Chase Dawson; even though he is a new contestant this year, he is fierce. The staff member representative this year is Mr. Kaslavage; he took a champion break last year, but now he’s back and better than ever and is also ready to steal the competition away. The admin representative is Mr. Copsey, and he already rules the school, so now he is prepared to rule the competition.
Who’s gonna win? Show up Tuesday a-lunch to find out, admission is 1 dollar.
