Schools out fooor SUMMER!!! Yeah, Yeah Summer is great but it can get boring sometimes. So I’m here to provide you with activities you can do in St.Mary’s this summer.
Swim and Sunbathe at the Community beaches and pools
St.Mary’s has LOTS of options for beaches and pools. Even though it is your basic summer activity. Nothing beats getting a tan and swimming with your friends. One option for community pools is the Great Mills Swimming pool. This pool has very broad hours which is good for a flexible schedule in the summer they are open all days of the week. Their hours are 6:30am-8:00pm Monday through Saturday. On Sundays their hours are 12:00pm-6:00pm. The price to swim is $6 for Youth (17 & under) and $8 for Adults. Another option is the CSM indoor pool. This is an indoor pool but it is another option for swimming if you are just trying to swim laps or stay out of the sun. They are open Monday- Friday 11am to 4pm. You can pay to swim once to get a membership. There are other community pools around but they are not open for everyone. Like neighborhood pools or membership pools but if you know someone who is a member you can always come with them as a guest. Now for Beaches there are plenty of public beaches. Like the Myrtle point beach ,Calvert Cliffs, Flag ponds, and many more. St.Mary’s county has lots of options for swimming and sunbathing whether at the beach or the pool.
Make Money!!!
The most productive thing to do this summer’s to get a job and save up your money…or spend it. There are many options in St.Mary’s one being a lifeguard, you do have to have a certification. But as you can see previously there are many options for pools around the area. You also could work at many of the local restaurants whether a small business or a chain company. There are also a lot of options here for that kind of job. Another job is working in retail or at a grocery store. St.Mary’s has Target, Ross, Marshalls, Home Goods,Walmart, Harris teeter, BJ’s etc.That is another great choice and there are lots of places. So lots of options for you and your availability. There are also many jobs that I am leaving out. But make sure to keep an eye out for businesses that have hiring signs.
Go to the Movies
Now that we have streaming services less people go to the movies and just wait for it to be put on Netflix or Disney + etc. But you should go to the movie theaters this summer because nothing beats the experience of getting to watch a movie for the first time on a big screen in a big comfy chair and some good movie theater snacks. We have two movie theaters in St.Marys RC theaters near Wildewood and AMC theaters in Lexington park. Make sure to check these movie theaters websites to check for what movies they are showing and the showtimes.
