As the second quarter begins, our grades have reset. This is an excellent opportunity to restart if you didn’t receive good grades in the first quarter. It is easy to get a good grade if you maintain what you’re working on and turn it in on time. It may not be an A+ but it should get you somewhere from having a B to an A. Just don’t be lazy about your work, that’s how most students end up having bad grades and failing most classes.
The second quarter comes in with a lot of breaks. Most students tend to worry about the homework they have to do during break. Try to find someone to help you out with your homework during break or have a teacher explain what you have to do. I caught up with Xander Vlahos, a freshman on the football team. He has a 3.8 GPA while practicing and playing football every day. He suggests that you: “Find out your study habits early on, actively listen even when it gets boring, and study with others, It will help you find more mistakes.”. He also suggests using flashcards, practice tests, and getting organized.
A teacher’s advice on how to maintain good grades is to study hard, ask questions, be open-minded, go to torture when you need help, and fake it till you make it.
As fall sports are coming to an end and winter sports are coming up make sure you check your grades. You’ll need a 2.0 GPA to be eligible to play winter sports, if you are a student-athlete then the tips and advice would be really useful. At home spend 30 minutes studying whatever subject you choose to do. Take in eight or nine hours of sleep, drink water first thing in the morning, get your head right be hygienic. Take advantage of your resources, always stay organized, and get your head right.
