The St. Mary’s County fair comes once a year and when it is here, it is the main attraction. Everyone goes crazy with excitement and they cannot wait to get their one day off of school that leads to the weekend to enjoy the fun filled event.

Most people go to the fair for their greasy but super yummy food while others go for the fun rides. When I asked multiple people at the fair what their favorite foods were, a majority of them said that they loved going for funnel cakes and kettle corn. When I asked senior Nicole Clarke what her favorite ride was, she responded, “I love the zipper because it does a lot of flips and it’s really fun to go on with your friends.”

When senior Amelia Kracinovich was asked what she enjoyed most about the fair, she replied, “I love going to the fair. I have been going ever since I have lived here in St. Mary;s County and I look forward to it every year. I mostly enjoy looking at all the different artwork, eating the different kinda of foods, and taking lots of different pictures with all of my friends. It is really fun!”

When senior Katie Padgett was asked what she enjoyed most about the fair and why, she replied, “I love seeing all the goats because they are cute and fun to look at. I also like eating food because it is what I enjoy most. I especially like getting a Chick-Fil-A coupon for a free chicken sandwich when I go. I also like getting off school for one day.”

The four days that the fair is here in St. Mary’s County, it is the main attraction. Everyone in the county goes with family and friends to enjoy it! Now all of St. Mary’s has to wait until next year to enjoy the fun filled fair again.
