Students from around the county gathered at the Hollywood Firehouse for the annual St. Mary’s College Fair on Tuesday. Seniors and juniors alike questioned representatives from numerous colleges located up and down the east coast. Junior Michelle Wood said “It was great to be able to talk to representatives from colleges I was interested in and to be exposed to colleges I might not have considered otherwise.”
Not only were there many four year universities present, but the employees from The College of Southern Maryland gave presentations on financial aid, scholarships, and other alternatives to financing college. Heather Wood, a senior, attended one of those presentations “The presentation was a really good opportunity for students to learn about all kinds of financial aid. We went over the FAFSA, different types of federal aide, and multiple ways to get state aid,” she said.
Even though the weather was monstrous, not even a tornado watch or severe thunderstorm warning could stop these students from reaching their post secondary goals.
