Some would call this an abomination: the worst thing to happen ever since the prequels. Star Wars is truly lost. But why? George Lucas has sold his company to the Disney corporation, a corporate titan, for four billion dollars. That is truly a lot of money. But readers of the latest news were not told that it was because of money, they were told the company was sold because George Lucas believes “It’s now time for me to pass ‘Star Wars’ on to a new generation of filmmakers.”
Well that sounds perfectly all right, and any self-respecting Star Wars fan would agree. But, why sell to Disney? That is where the true mystery exists. Disney has run a corporate powerhouse for generations, and over time has made many smart decisions in the business of ruining good things for money. But I digress, what about Pixar? After Disney bought them they were a perfectly good series of movies? Sure, it is agreeable that they were bought respectively and left to the purpose of their creators to produce incredible movies, and they did it well. Star Wars is another case. Star Wars is dead, and it has been dead ever since fans stared in awe at the “first” Star Wars movie (Phantom Menace). A revival of the movies and possibly even more “Star Wars TV shows” would be horrible.
The climate for upcoming Star Wars movies is a definite storm. People will not be happy with this one. Surely the idea of reviving the movies has already been proven a bad idea with the “first” three prequels! So, as a personal critic, I warn fans everywhere to save their eyes and refrain from seeing these movies!
