Open Mic night at Ruddy Duck is a great way for talented musicians to be noticed. Every Tuesday night, anyone has the opportunity to show off what they have. Every individual we both saw had really good talent and had a lot of confidence to get on the stage and sing their heart out. The only downer people are very noisy and disruptive while the actual performance was going on. The service there is very quick, and it goes along with a friendly environment. “I love to go to the Ruddy Duck to see people to show off their talent!” says musician Dave Harder.
When walking in, you can hear the guitars strumming and people singing. First, we saw an acoustic trio, and they had a few glitches that they need to fix with their tone of voice. “I heard that this is an excellent place to go see live music,” says Meagan’s grandma, Joan Beavers. Taylor Steingold performed here and in the beginning of the performance the sound system kept messing up and it was getting in the way of her performance. That is a problem they need to get fixed, before they get singers up there to perform. Overall, Open Mic night is a great place for a young crowd of people to have a good time.
