Cancer. A simple word has changed the world. Cancer has impacted so many people and has changed lives. Although it has brought devastation, hurt, and grief to people everywhere, cancer has the ability to bring people together. It has brought back good values, charity, and love to people everywhere.
This October has been Breast Cancer month. The Leonardtown football team has worn pink all month, in order to bring out awareness of cancer. Items with the breast cancer pink ribbon all give a sum of their profit to help with finding a cure. Many other groups such as The American Cancer Society, get together to help the people and families that suffer from cancer every year.
Apart from fundraising groups, there are cancer centers. These centers are used to help cancer patients and families overcome the disease and the hurt that comes with it. The Cancer treatment center of America is an amazing group! Thousands of people every year volunteer to help give emotional and physical support to those in need. These groups bring out the best in people.
Everybody wants to find a cure for cancer. But it’s important to find reasons to come together. I wouldn’t wish cancer on anyone, but I think it is awesome that so many people care. So many people give up time and money, for people they don’t even know. When you look at how many people have come together to fight cancer, the world doesn’t seem like such a bad place.
