Are you looking for a book to captivate your attention, while also leaving you on the edge of your seat the entire time? “Copycat” by Alex Lake tells the story of Sarah Havenant who is being stalked, as Sarah tries to get to the bottom of this bone-chilling mystery she slowly slips more and more into insanity, and her family experiences ups and downs because of this. The book describes the twists and turns of Sarah’s mental state, and ends with an enthralling reveal.
The book starts off pretty slow and then gradually speeds up throughout the entire book. A thing I don’t like about books is when they start off slow and are boring because I can’t stay focused, but Lake starts the book off at a slow pace that’s not too overwhelming but still interesting so it hooks you enough to get to the exciting part. Then as you get hooked to the book it just gets more and more interesting as it goes on until the final plot twist. For me finding a good thriller is hard because building suspense can either make or break a story, and this one does it perfectly.
I think that you should read this book because it holds thriller qualities while keeping the interest of readers. I have suggested this book to multiple friends and 2 of them have read it and told me that they too found it very intriguing. I think that subjectively the plot is good, it’s interesting and you don’t hear a lot about books about this kind of plot. A good book can do a lot, if you don’t like reading it can get you into reading or you can simply just find something to pass your time. So I think you should give this one a try.
